Oops, they did it again!

The women of Culver City Elks Lodge #1917 have done it again. They got together to spend a evening dining, painting a picture and bidding on items up for auction. All to benefit the Culver City High School Homeless Children.

There are nearly 200 teens attending Culver City High School who are homeless. On top of the usual angst high schoolers face, these children also worry about basic survival essentials; finding shelter, food, and a way of keeping clean. The Culver City United School District (CCUSD) is progressive in helping the families of teens caught in this situation and the Culver City Elks are determined to help them.

The Elks, led by Genny Santiesteban organized the fund raising and all the proceeds went to this cause. The ladies organized the event, publicized it and solicited the items to be raffled. Hot raffle items included a Rachel Ray Cookware set, a picnic basket filled with cutlery and snacks, and a ladies watch valued at over $1500 donated by Toni Ferrara.

The dinner was provided by "Tacos by Louis" which included three different delicious tacos, beans, rice and salad.

Last time over $500 was donated to the cause and this time Genny Santiesteban and Toni Ferrara were able to present a check in an amount over $600.

Way to go, Elks!
