Somewhat lost in the hubbub around the new Culver City Council members was the news that Culver City voters voted 'Yes' on the city's sole ballot measure, an initiative to raise the city's transient occupancy tax from 12 percent (effective since 1989) to 14 percent. At last Monday's meeting, the Culver City Councilmembers debated whether the city should continue to help fund three major Culver City cultural events: IndieCade, Taste of the Nation, and the Culver CIty Exchange Club's Car Show.
