New Expo-Adjacent Mixed-Use Development Breaks Ground

According to two recent articles on LA Curbed, developer Greystar Real Estate officially broke ground on Access Culver City (formerly Legado Crossing), the mixed-use construction adjacent to the Expo Line's Culver City Station. I'm not positive, but I believe we're talking about the empty lot on the Southeast corner of Washington and National, kitty-corner to the Expo Line parking lot. [ed note: This has since been confirmed.]

Either way, the articles explain that when the complex opens "next summer," it will offer 115-unit luxury apartments and more than 31,000 square feet of retail. The complex also will offer a tree-lined 7,000-square-foot courtyard, open to the public.

Bittersweet news for me. The new development is definitely better than what's been there for the past couple of years, but I still miss the old mom n' pop feel of the old businesses. Ah well, time goes by.
