LA COUNTY FEDERATION OF LABOR ENDORSES DANIEL LEE FOR CULVER CITY COUNCIL

Daniel Lee’s Culver City Council campaign earned another endorsement from a major labor coalition in recent days as Los Angeles County Federation of Labor announced its support for the candidate, joining IBEW/Local 11 and a growing roster of organizations, leaders, and individuals backing Lee’s historic run for City Council.

A full lineup of Los Angeles County Federation of Labor’s endorsements can be found at: http://thelafed.org/voter-guide/. Daniel Lee’s endorsements are listed at: http://danielwaynelee.com/endorsements.

Lee was previously a member of SAG-AFTRA for over a decade, and is the son of a labor and delivery nurse who was also a longtime union member. The candidate has always supported the cause of unions and workers, and believes the revival of union membership is essential to protecting the health, welfare, safety, and wages of working people. “If we are going to make a serious dent in economic inequality, we need to strengthen union membership. Studies have shown that where union membership is high, wages and benefits are also high, in both the public and private sector, and where unions are strong, economic inequality is low.”

Lee had already received endorsements from U.S. Representative Karen Bass, the Sierra Club, Culver City Democratic Club, Los Angeles County Democratic Party, Los Angeles County Board of Trustees President Sydney Kamlager-Dove, Culver City Council Member Sahli-Wells, Culver City Vice Mayor Thomas Small, former LA City Controller Rick Tuttle, Culver City School Board Member Dr. Kelly Kent, and many others.

After a great run in the last City Council election in 2016, nearly gaining a Council seat in a field of seven candidates, Daniel Lee is poised for success in the City Council election on April 10th, which would make Mr. Lee the first African-American City Council Member in Culver City’s history.
