Announcing 11th Annual New Media Film Festival
June 3-4 2020
The success stories from previous New Media Film Festivals continue to draw in and inspire contestants year round. It is a continuous encouragement to witness the impressive achievements accomplished by recipients, audience members, and participants of the festival. Since New Media is an infinite catalyst for story & technology, we chose to highlight 8 success stories, as 8 is also an infinity symbol.
Brian Beacock’s McCracken Live! After winning Best LGBT at 2nd New Media Film Festival, Beacock’ web series, Acting Dead, went on to win an Emmy and Indie Series award.
Oscar Arce and Noel Lawrence met at 1st New Media Film Festival. The two then collaborated in producing a legendary music video with American Musician and Rock n’ Roll Hall of Famer, Bootsy Collins.
Flatline Experience
CEO and founder of Portal Experience, Julian McCrea, participated on the tech panel at the 7th New Media Film Festival. Moved by McCrea’s enthusiasm for Virtual Reality, an audience member decided to fund his first production, Flatline Experience.
Gregory Blair’s Deadly Revisions
Gregory Blair screened his horror film pitch at 4th New Media Film Festival. Backers were so taken with his work that they agreed to fund the production of the movie.
Nancy Wyllies’ Moth Vitals premiered at New Media Film Festival. Since the festival, the short was chosen to be shown at The Darwin Museum in Moscow as well as for Nancy to speak on navigating the film festival landscape.
After winning Best Drone at the 7th New Media Film Festival, Hello World has helped the robotics company it highlighted, Prenav acquire $6.5 million in funding.
Since winning the grand prize for his series The Dark and the Wounded at the 8thNew Media Film Festival, James Picard was offered $1,000,000 for his “Apparitions” painting.
The Sparkle
At the 8th New Media Film Festival filmmaker Lana Lekarinou was able to seek out backers for her film, The Sparkle, leading it to become a great success.
