It was a wet winter in Southern California, and at the risk of perpetuating a cliche, I submit the following: April showers bring May flowers. Spring is in bloom. Colors explode and ricochet in the yards, hillsides, and, yes, street medians of Culver City.

These pictures were taken throughout Culver City on Sunday, May 8, 2011.

I'm not going to pretend to know the names of all of these flowering plants, but I do know the one below is called Agapanthus (thanks mom!). Looks like it's not quite in bloom yet, but soon!

This one isn't much to look at, but it smells amazing.

And of course, the bougainvillea is going crazy right now.
