CULVER CITY - A Los Angeles County Superior Court judge ruled in favor of a Los Angeles County woman who accused Kenyon Demorio Glover of assault, saying there was “clear and convincing evidence” to find that he assaulted the victim. 

Glover, 45, formerly of Pasadena, appeared via LA Court Connect from his home base in Dallas, Texas.

The judge presiding over​ the case was former Deputy District Attorney from Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Prosecutor Turned Judge, Alfred Coletta. Judge Coletta said “the court takes notice of the evidence presented as clear and convincing,” and called the testimony “disturbing” while ruling on the “violence” petition, according to court documents.

Glover, an actor, producer, minister, and founder of Faithful & Focused Ministries, told the court that the victim said, “No” and that “It hurts.” Court records also show the victim stated that Glover had “gaslighted” her. The victim spoke directly to Glover on the impact of the assault and said, “Yes, Sir, you did attack me. Yes, Sir, you did use threats, emotional manipulation, trickery, and coercion,” according to court testimony. 

The victim told the court Glover was a “predator” and that the assault was a “premeditated experience.” The victim referred to Glover as a “narcissistic sociopath” according to court testimony. Testimony given from the victim revealed Glover “did a lot of stuff to scare me, to intimidate me, and it was to provoke fear in me.”

The victim stated that Glover “kept playing with guns. He kept bringing the guns out, handling the firearms, taking them out of the pouches and shooting them in the air,” according to court testimony. 

Glover admitted to being in possession of a handgun and admitted to removing the weapon from the holster and handling the weapon in the victim’s presence in the time period preceding the assault, according to court testimony. 

The victim told the court “he’s a very scary and dangerous person, and I’ve seen firsthand now behind the scenes,” according to court testimony. 

At one point during the hearing, Glover erupted in anger leading the victim to express fear of him to the judge stating, “it’s that temper right there. I know he can be a bully, and it’s deeply concerning to me,” according to court testimony. 

Testimony in the hearing revealed that Glover had an extensive history of domestic violence, where he had previously assaulted his ex-wife. Testimony also revealed that Glover had a prior domestic violence charge. 

According to court testimony, Glover told the victim on the day of the assault, “I almost killed a man. I got off because it was self defense, but I almost killed him.” 

Judge Coletta pointed to Glover’s actions after the fact to suggest he acted wantonly, and gave merit to the victim. “I do find her credible,” Judge Coletta told Glover during the hearing. 

The court found “there is an ability for Mr. Glover to come to California. He’s a licensed driver in California. He has access to the state. He has access to other social media tools if he wishes to make contact with the victim, so I will grant the restraining order,” the judge said.

“He is not to contact you by email, text messages, or other social media or electronic means, devices, or in writing personally,” the judge said. “He’s to stay away from you for 100 yards in public, your home, your vehicle, and your workplace. That will be my order,” the judge told the victim. 

The court order states that Glover “cannot own, possess, have, buy or try to buy, receive or try to receive, or in any other way get guns, other firearms, or ammunition.” 

The judge ruled “it’s going to be also that Mr. Glover is not to harass or intimidate, threaten, stalk, assault, hit, abuse, destroy the safety and peace of the victim,” according to the court order.

“I find that there was an event, I think the event was one where Mr. Glover exceeded what he felt was perhaps permissive behavior that would have caused him to act that way,” Judge Coletta stated at the end of the hearing.
