Secret Happy Hour at Seventy7 + Our Culver City Favorites

by Broke Girl's Guide

Drinks these days are so easy. Whatever happened to the good ol’ days when you had to sneak into a seedy basement somewhere and give a secret handshake in order to booze, like back in high school (or, say, the 1920s).

Well, Seventy7, a new speakeasy tucked away in Culver City, has brought back the password-protected martini.  Since we like it when things are hard to get, we called up the ladies over at Let’s Do and proposed making an exclusive venue even more exclusive by throwing an exclusive party.  Thus, our secret happy hour was born.  Next Friday, November 11, we’re going to play host to 2 hours of secret Broke Girl cocktails, passed appetizers, and an extreme level of cool.  All you have to do in order to make the cut is sign up here. Entry is $6, but proceeds go to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  Space is limited, so hurry!

While you’re in Culver City, we suggest you check out one or more of the following for a bite to eat:

A-Frame --  Try the Clam Chowder and/or the Warm Cornbread & Chicken Salad. And so long as you're ready to be up all night, don’t miss the Vietnamese-style coffee served after dinner.

Father’s Office -- If you don’t yet know about Father’s Office, we’re not sure you should be coming to this event. We kid, but some do consider these to be the best burgers in LA.

City Tavern -- Sounds simple, but the Bacon & Egg Sandwich is delicious. We also love the Shrimp & Grits.

Jasmine Market -- It’s a dive, but most of the best Indian places are, no?  The food here is amazing.

For some after-dinner wine:

Bottle Rock -- Try a wine flight and, perhaps, some cheese for dessert.

And for late night:

Waterloo & City -- Mmm, Indian Butter Pizza or Steamed Mussels in Red Thai Curry...

I was at the Seventy7 last night! Really good times. Love they kept part of the name in homage to Tokyo 77. But did you know it's connected by a passage way to Roccos?
