Imagine 10 million years ago when the seas were abundant and Los Angeleswas part of a large, deep ocean bay. Fast forward to today, in your backyard, or more specifically the San Jose Hills of West Covina, fish fossils from this prehistoric time can be found.
Learn about the diversity of fish fossils dating from the mid to late Miocene Epoch which can be found just an hour away from Culver City.
Keith Krzywiec’s interactive presentation will explain the geological history of our area along with a visual presentation. Keith will show us new fossil finds which are from sites in the L.A. basin and many specimens from his own collection will be on display. Join us for an entertaining evening full of fish fossil fun.
