DOUBLE DOUBLE CONCERTO CONCERT

 

 

PROGRAM: The Los Angeles Doctors Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Maestro Ivan Shulman, presents a piano extravaganza featuring prodigy Reina Hewes, and local piano masters Sylvie Ollivier, Deborah How, Rufus Choi, and Robert Theis in a program that includes the Concerto for Two Pianos in D-minor by F. Poulenc, the Keyboard Concerto in F-minor BWV 1056 by J.S. Bach, and the Concerto No. 10 for Two Pianos in E-flat major, K. 365by W.A. Mozart.The concert will open with Mozart’sOverture to Cosi fan tutti.

 

DATE AND LOCATION: Sunday, APRIL 28, 2019 at 7:30 PM at The Moss Theater – Herb Alpert Educational Village – New Roads School,  3131 Olympic Blvd,  Santa Monica CA 90404.

ADMISSION: free (SUGGESTED DONATION $20 for adults, $5 for children and seniors). Tickets available at the door. Open seating.

THE LOS ANGELES DOCTORS SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA (www.ladso.org), now in its 66th season, led by Maestro Ivan Shulman in his 29th consecutive year as Music Director, is one of the oldest medically-oriented, non-proft 501(c)(3) community orchestras in the United States. Its mission is to provide enrichment of the communities it serves through the healing power of music, to support medical causes, and to support both young and emerging professional musicians in their pursuit of the discipline and joys found in musical expression.

 

THE WESTSIDE MUSIC FOUNDATION is a non-profit 501(c)(3) public benefit charity. Their mission is to promote musical culture and the pursuit of excellence in the field of music education in the Los Angeles Westside environs and community for people of all socio-economic backgrounds. The Westside Music Foundation promotes musical culture and appreciation by providing high-quality musical concerts and activities to the public, featuring professional artists and leading educators, free of charge, by voluntary donation, or for a nominal fee to cover costs. There is a particular emphasis on musical educational opportunities to youth who otherwise do not have access to top-caliber mentors due to inadequate financial means or lack of exposure due to socio-economic background.
