Event Description

Downtown Culver Citys Third Wednesday “Get psyched for CicLAvia Happy Hour and Sunday “CicLAvia Celebration – Get ready to burn rubber in a neighborhood that’s always bike-friendly at Downtown Culver City’s Third Wednesday “Get psyched for CicLAvia Happy Hour” on Wednesday, April 17. Gear up at Third Wednesday for Downtown Culver City’s CicLAvia Celebration on Sunday, April 21, when Downtown Culver City will be a ‘hub’ for the “To the Sea” CicLAvia route spanning 15 miles of open road from Downtown to Venice. Get a sneak peek of the spoke-whirling action with Third Wednesday drink and menu specials at participating restaurants and bars. Cyclists can warm up those chains for the main event and check out the streets from a whole new perspective by riding their bikes along the tree-lined boulevards. Lock up at a public bike rack and stop in at one of Downtown’s unique boutiques, art galleries, spas or stores. Leave the four-wheeler at home and ride the rails to the Expo Line Culver City Station — your best bet when you return on Sunday for the CicLAvia Celebration, as Main Street will be closed to traffic. Sunday’s festivities will feature a DJ from MYFM spinning at the “hub” and entertainment from Marston, Lord of the Cello; AK and her Kalashnikovs; Slugger O’ Toole; and an assortment of painters, chalk artists and street entertainers. Culver City’s downtown area is Southern California’s best kept secret, featuring a wonderful mix of historic buildings, boutiques, theaters, galleries and unique restaurants opening on to tree-lined streets. Parking is free in municipal structures for up to two hours, or valet parking is available at three convenient Downtown locations. April 17 & 21; Downtown Culver City is located just south of the 10 Freeway and east of the 405, between the intersection of Culver and Washington Blvds and Dusquene Ave.; Free; www.downtownculvercity.com
