The women’s choral ensemble, Vox Femina Los Angeles, invites the Los Angeles community to their fundraising event, Song Cycle, a bicycle ride along the Ballona Creek Path and festival at Culver City Park on Saturday June 27, 2015. Participants in the bicycle ride can register online at www.voxfemina.org.
The event starts at 10am, and check-in and on-site registration begins at 9am at the Culver City Park at Jefferson Blvd. and Duquesne Avenue. Registration fee is $50 for adults and $15 for children, and registrants will receive a complimentary event t-shirt and “goodie bag” donated by event sponsors. Riders may choose a 10-mile route, a 24-mile route, or a 5-mile “family fun” route. People who would prefer to run or walk the route instead of ride are welcome to sign up as well.
Participants are encouraged to raise money through sponsorships and Vox Femina will provide them with access to GroupRev so they can create their own personalized donor webpage to share with friends and family through email and social media. Donations are tax deductible.
There is no admission cost for the Festival, which will be from 10am-2pm. It will feature live music, food vendors, an artisan marketplace, and activities for children including a moon bounce, face painting, and balloon animals. An awards ceremony will take place at 1pm, with prizes for the fastest riders in each age group, the rider with the most donations collected, and the rider with the highest number of sponsors.
The fundraising goal for this event is $25,000, and the money raised will go toward hiring a part-time Executive Director who will run Vox Femina’s daily operations and expand the organization’s community outreach to local students.
