Culver City Julian Dixon Library continues Summer Reading Program with the magical interactive folklore and multicultural story-based plays of We Tell Stories. Children are chosen from the audience to dress up and participate. Performances will take place every Wednesday in July at 2:00 p.m. with a different music-related theme each week. This week's performance is Jive Tales comprised of stories of trickster characters from folklore and literature. The following plays are featured: "Signifyin' Monkey"; "Coyote"; "Chanticleer the Rooster"; and "The Lion in the Well."

These performances are made possible in part by a Culver City Performing Arts Grant with support from Sony Pictures Entertainment. Space for We Tell Stories performances is generously provided by the City of Culver City's Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department during the library closure.

Note: Children's and teen signups for Summer Reading Program will take place before and after the performances and prize incentives may be collected at this time.
