Summer Reading Program concludes with the magical interactive folklore and multicultural story-based plays of We Tell Stories. Children are chosen from the audience to dress up and participate in the plays. The performances of We Tell Stories will take place every Wednesday afternoon in July at 2 p.m. with a different music-related theme each week. This week's performance is Stories That Sing, a show comprised of stories in rhyming verse. The following plays are featured: "The Jabberwocky"; "The Walrus and the Carpenter"; "The Cat Who Became a Poet"; and "King Hilary and the Beggarman."
These performances are made possible in part by a Culver City Performing Arts Grant with support from Sony Pictures Entertainment. Space for We Tell Stories performances is generously provided by the City of Culver City's Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department during the library closure.
Note: Children's and teen signups for Summer Reading Program will take place before and after the performances and prize incentives may be collected at this time.
