Narvo - thanks for your comment.  The best view of Vets tower is driving down Overland from I-10.  Try that view and you will agree with me that Vets tower should become a "signature art piece" for Culver City.  Maybe in red, white and blue?

I wonder if it is indeed. It's missing the little dark-colored "fin" at the top (which is still there to this day)...unless what we're seeing was the original design?

That must be the observation tower at Veterans Memorial Bldg (build circa 1950).  In those days, there would have been a view of an MGM back lot.
