The Online Community for Culver City – The New Scene
On Wednesday, November 14, 2018 the Culver City Elks, under the leadership of Louis Santiesteban, held their annual Veterans Appreciation Dinner. Approximately 50 local veterans were invited to a free, tasty Tri-tip dinner with salad and dessert.
The veterans spent an enjoyable evening in conversation and fellowship.
As is tradition, guest speakers took the microphone to share their experiences and wisdom.

Elks member and ex-Marine, Bub Durbin got a few laughs speaking about his life which covers 91 years. He spoke sincerely of his 71 years of marriage to the same lovely woman.

For the Elks who donated their money and more importantly, their time, this was a chance to express their gratitude for the sacrifices these veterans have made. We had just as good a time, in fact, probably a better time sharing and conversing with the men and women who gave so much of themselves.
