More specifically, it was the women of Culver City Elks Lodge #1917 that had a delicious dinner, painted a picture and generously donated in a fund-raiser for the Culver City High School Homeless Children.
There are nearly 200 teens attending Culver City High School who are homeless. On top of the usual angst high schoolers face, these children also worry about basic survival essentials; finding shelter, food, and a way of keeping clean. The Culver City United School District (CCUSD) is progressive in helping the families of teens caught in this situation and the Culver City Elks wanted to help them.
The women of Culver City Elks Lodge #1917 led by Genny Santesteban and Belen Flores organized the fund raising needed to host a Tri-Tip Dinner and Paint Party on February 23, 2018, where all the proceeds went to the Culver City High School Homeless Children. That they had fun while doing so is just icing on the cake.
