Vice Mayor McMorrin and School Board Member Ezidore are thrilled to announce the upcoming Culver City Juneteenth event, set to take place on June 17th from 11am-2pm. This free, fun-filled festival, celebration, and resource fair will be held at Ivy Station in Culver City.
Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and serves as a time for reflection, education, and celebration. The Culver City Juneteenth event aims to honor this significant moment in history while fostering unity and empowerment within the community.
Attendees can look forward to a vibrant array of activities and entertainment throughout the day. Dance performances will captivate audiences, while the mesmerizing beats of drummers will create an energetic atmosphere. The Black business expo will showcase the talent and entrepreneurial spirit of local Black-owned businesses, providing an opportunity for economic growth and support.
Special guest speakers will inspire and educate attendees, sharing their unique perspectives and stories of resilience. Photo booths will capture joyful moments, allowing visitors to create lasting memories. A diverse range of food trucks will be available, satisfying appetites with delicious culinary delights from various cuisines. The event will also feature community resources, ensuring attendees have access to vital information and support. Youth performances will showcase the incredible talents of young individuals, highlighting their creativity and passion.
