To our Community Partners, the gardening community and all interested parties,

In response to the overwhelming interest in the Culver City Community Garden, STAR Education has joined together with several other organizations to strive towards providing an alternative option to Culver City’s current community garden’s shortage of available plots and extensive waiting list. I am in the developmental stage of starting up S.A.G.E, Sustainable Agriculture Gardening Education, and would like to invite you to be a part of our project.

The Sustainable Agriculture Gardening Education project mission is to provide Culver City and surrounding communities with a center for sustainable gardening and agricultural practices. It will promote community building, better health and more knowledge about food security and sovereignty through building a garden learning center. We seek to educate the community about sustainable agricultural/environmental and health issues as well as provide a safe experiential learning environment for the people of Culver City, West Los Angeles and neighboring communities.

We are working on beginning our SAGE program near our office in Culver City (located at Jefferson Blvd and College Blvd). Currently STAR/SAGE is in talks with LA County Board of Supervisors and West LA College regarding potential locations.

The SAGE project team and STAR Education is reaching out for your support on this important mission. As of now, we are meeting with the county and other organizations to see how we can best serve the community.
