Sen. Holly Mitchell Endorses Yasmine McMorrin for Culver City Council

State Senator joins growing list of McMorrin’s supporters

California Senator Holly J. Mitchell is adding her endorsement to Yasmine McMorrin’s historic campaign for Culver City Council.

“I proudly endorse Yasmine McMorrin in her run for Culver City Council” stated Mitchell. “In her four years in Culver City, she has shown up to fight for her community. From her advocacy to protect and expand protections for renters, to her work on the city’s General Plan Advisory Committee to ensure equitable development of her community, Yasmine has demonstrated her commitment to serve.”

A longtime champion of equity and justice, Sen. Mitchell represents Culver City’s California District 30, and is campaigning for the District 2 seat on the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors. Prior to serving in the California Senate, Holly J. Mitchell represented the 54th District in the California State Assembly.

“I am honored to receive the endorsement of State Senator Holly J. Mitchell in my race for Culver City Council,” said McMorrin. “Senator Mitchell is an exemplary public servant who has been at the forefront of progressive issues and a champion of equity. I am looking forward to carrying the torch as I fight for equity in every city policy and budget decision in Culver City.”

Yasmine McMorrin has gained numerous recent endorsements, drawn by her message of equity and inclusion, and would be the first African-American woman to serve on the Culver City Council.
