The Online Community for Culver City – The New Scene
Two great all-acoustic bands with strong roots on the Westside will team up on October 29th to create the Big Bluegrass Bash, a celebration of Bluegrass, Americana and Roots music. Burning Heart Bluegrass and Sugar in the Gourd will serve up an evening of music that will range from simple folk tunes to foot stomping fiddle tunes, from Appalachian murder ballads to hard-driving Bluegrass. And as if that's not enough, well-known West Coast teacher, performer and recording artist, Fred Sokolow, will start the evening off with a half-hour "mini-tutorial," demonstrating the many styles of American traditional music on a variety of stringed instruments.
All this takes place at the Vineyard Christian Fellowship Westside located at 3838 S. Centinela Ave,. Los Angeles 90066, the corner of Centinela and Venice Blvd. In addition to a beautful performance space with comfortable seating and state-of-the-art sound, the Vineyard has plenty of easy-to-access free parking. The Vineyard's Coffee Connection, a favorite hangout of Westide coffee and tea lovers, will be open most of the evening for beverages and snacks.
Tickets at the door are $20.00 (cash only), but can be purchased in advance for $15.00 on-line with credit card, debit card, or paypal at burningheartbluegrass.com. Those who do not have access to a computer may call (310) 773-6753 to order advance tickets.
