PROGRAM: The romantic titles and hauntingly powerful music in The Banks of Green Willow and the Butterfly Lovers’ Concerto reprise tragedies of young love torn asunder as poignantly as that of Romeo and Juliet. They stand in contrast to the melodic and ebullient offerings of Dvorak’s Symphony No. 8 in G-major which closes the final concert of our 2018-19 season in a bold, assertive, and unrestrained statement of vitality and renewal.
