L.A.’s largest holiday celebration is perfect for the whole family!. Join this year’s co-hosts, internationally renowned mezzo-soprano Suzanna Guzmán and actor Brian White (upcoming 2019 series Ambitions, Bronx SIU, Ray Donovan), as over 20 music ensembles, choirs and dance companies from the many neighborhoods and cultures of L.A. celebrate the season. The entire 3-hour show will be broadcast live by PBS SoCal and KCET, and streamed live at pbssocal.org. Highlights of this year’s Holiday Celebration include the Daniel Ho & Halau Keali’i o Nalani, performing Ho’s original songs in English and Hawaiian with captivating hula choreography; Le Ballet Dembaya, a professional West African drum and dance company based in Los Angeles, performing “Kuku,” a djembe rhythm from the Manian ethnic group that originates in the forest region of Guinea; Kayamanan Ng Lahi Philippine Folk Arts, a Filipino dance company noted for its extensive dance repertoire, costumes and music ensembles; Lorenzo Johnson & Praizum, a diverse choir that appeals to people from all walks of life with upbeat, inspirational and positive hymns, including traditional, contemporary, hip-hop, R&B, Christian and gospel; Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea, an all-female mariachi ensemble; Infinite Flow – An Inclusive Dance Company, America’s first professional wheelchair ballroom dance company; Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles, the largest majority African American orchestra in the country; Pasadena Girls’ Choir, a newly formed voice ensemble under the musical direction of Barbara Allen, whose past choirs have performed on television's America's Got Talent and Dancing With The Stars; Paso de Oro Dance Company, performing regional dances in celebration of Mexican and Latin culture; and Tres Souls, a band that relives the vintage sounds and songs of the 1940s-1960s Bolero style popularized during the golden era of Mexican cinema. See it for free at The Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on Dec. 24 from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m., or watch it live on PBS SoCal and KCET. Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, 135 N. Grand Ave., Los Angeles, 90012; FREE; Information hotline: (213) 972-3099 or www.HolidayCelebration.org
