Event Description

The L.A. Theatre Company and  the Centre Theatre group presents Juan and John at the Kirk Douglas Theatre.

The Watts Towers Project was a high point  of Solomania! at the Douglas in 2006. Smith returns with an equally  powerful and poetic work based on the true story of baseball legends Juan  Marichal and John Roseboro and the infamous 1965 day when Marichal turned and  hit Roseboro in the head with his bat. Smith witnessed the event on television  and passionately presents it as part of a greater story that  encompasses the Watts riots, Catholicism, the  notions of marriage, family and, ultimately, redemption and forgiveness.

14 performances only!

Tickets are $25.

The Kirk Douglas Theatre is at 9820 Washington Blvd.
