Another incredible building by Eric Owen Moss. Construction is due to begin in October, at the corner of Jefferson and National.

No Construction Yet on the Culver City Expo Line Parking Lot

Posted on March 16, 2017 at 2:30pm 0 Comments

Weil, it's been more than a month now since they closed the Expo Line lot—which was plumb full every weekday as well as for sporting events at the Coliseum and for other special events such as the Women's March. And yet there's still no construction happening.

That's a month that faithful Expo train riders could have been using the lot. Surely someone knew that no…

CicLAvia Returning to Culver City on Sunday, March 26

Posted on March 16, 2017 at 3:30am 0 Comments

On Sunday, March 26, you'll be able to ride your bike from downtown Culver City to the ocean with only 9 stops. CicLAvia is coming to Culver City. During these free CicLAvia events, whole streets are shut down to car traffic, encouraging bicyclists and pedestrians to explore the city and participate in a space that is normally dominated by automobiles.

They are…

Joe Sanders.  And I think he sent it to me as he knows how much I dislike the Culver City Expo Station because it is so ugly. I go out of my way to go to the Jefferson/La Cienega station.

Thanks!  You sent an email 6/1/11, and though I've visited a number of times, I've finally gotten around to "joining"!

Happy new year!

Hi Justin,

Do I know you? I probably don't but I feel like I should. It's weird, I had the same idea as your website a couple years ago -- I actually owned the URL CulverCityTimes.com starting in 2009, as well as GoCulverCity.com (I let them both lapse of course), and I still own CulverCityNews.com. I never got around to doing anything with these and probably never would have, so I'm excited to see you executive such a great site with a really captivating and robust mix of content. I also worked in Marketing and Communications at USC for many years (I see from your LinkedIn profile that you did as well) and we both appear to be LinkedIn connected to Gretchen Lightfoot, who I worked when I was a consultant for The ALS Association. So we're kind of dopplegangers or something. I'm also a professional writer like you (www.jamesklein.com), which you may know since you asked about my business. it lagged somewhat last year but this year is going well, thanks for asking.

Sorry for this long, strange trip of a message, but I guess I'd like to express an interest in contributing to Culver City Times, especially if you're looking for stringers to write articles -- especially entertainment and food reviews in my case.

In any case, best of luck, and I look forward to reading Culver City Times.

James

Thank you, happy to be here.  When we firstmoved here in 1998 our realtor gave us  a blurb about Clarkdale but it did  not have a history.  Julie Lugo would know for sure but I do believe the old rollerdome was in Clarkdale.
