Celebrated soprano Julia Migenes returns to the Odyssey with an exploration of the life of this great composer: his youth, his great wit and his constant battle with the more conservative musical world. Debussy's actual letters lead into his music in this new stage biography of one of the most highly regarded composers of the late 18th, early 19th centuries, considered the “founder of musical impressionism.” Accompanied on piano by Manuel Arellano and directed by Academy Award-nominated director Peter Medak. The limited 3-week engagement runs every Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., Feb. 10 through Feb. 25. Odyssey Theatre, 2055 S. Sepulveda Blvd., West Los Angeles, CA 90025; Tickets $35; Reservations (310) 477-2055 or www.OdysseyTheatre.com.
