Summer Reading Program continues with the magical interactive folklore and multicultural story-based plays of We Tell Stories. Children are chosen from the audience to dress up and participate in the plays. The performances of We Tell Stories will take place every Wednesday afternoon in July at 2:00 p.m. with a different music-related theme each week. This week's performance is entitled Listen to the Beat and consists of tales with a beat from African and African American culture. Plays performed will be: "The Frog Who Wanted to Sing"; "John Henry"; and "Akimba and the Magic Cow."

These performances are made possible in part by a Culver City Performing Arts Grant with support from Sony Pictures Entertainment. Space for We Tell Stories is generously provided by the City of Culver City's Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department during the library closure.

Note: Children and teens may sign up for Summer Reading Program before and after performances and may collect their prize incentives at this time.
