Equality California Endorses Stephanie Loredo for Culver City Unified School District Governing Board Member

Stephanie Loredo (https://stephanieloredo.com), an advocate for education, sustainability, and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), today announced she has been endorsed by Equality California. Stephanie is a candidate for Culver City Unified School District (CCUSD) Governing Board Member. Equality California (https://www.eqca.org) is the nation’s largest statewide LGBTQ+ civil rights organization.

With over 900,000 members, Equality California brings the voices of LGBTQ+ people and allies to institutions of power in California and across the United States. It strives to create a world that is healthy, just, and fully equal for all LGBTQ+ people. The organization advances civil rights and social justice by inspiring, advocating and mobilizing through an inclusive movement that works tirelessly on behalf of those it serves.

“We are proud to endorse Stephanie Loredo. We believe she can advance our goal of increasing pro-equality allies and LGBTQ+ elected officials who will support LGBTQ+ civil rights, social justice, and progressive causes across U.S. communities,” said Equality California Executive Director Tony Hoang. “We envision Stephanie as a champion in Culver City in the fight for full, lived LGBTQ+ equality.”

Equality California PAC, an organization within Equality California, support viable pro-equality candidates running for local, state and federal offices who have a proven track record of supporting civil rights and social justice for LGBTQ+ people and who are committed to advancing these goals in their capacity as elected officials.

Equality California fights for full LGBTQ+ equality through:

  • Electing pro-equality leaders up and down the ballot
  • Passing pro-equality legislation in Sacramento and Washington, DC
  • Fighting for LGBTQ+ civil rights and social justice in the courtroom
  • Reducing disparities in LGBTQ+ health and well-being through education and advocacy

“All community members, especially those who are LGBTQ+, gain personal growth and

enrichment from a robust public school system bolstered by a culture of care. I am honored by Equality California’s endorsement, as it demonstrates the importance of equity and inclusion for LGBTQ+ students and staff,” said Stephanie Loredo. “Our Culver City public schools have the opportunity create stronger foundations for LGBTQ+ students and their families that enable them to live authentically, dream big, be proud, and care for their community.”

Stephanie’s vision for public schools resonates with national progressive organizations that are advocating for equality. Public schools are foundational to thriving, healthy communities. Stephanie is focused on empowering marginalized voices and removing barriers to participation so that voices of the LGBTQ+ community and others will be present for consequential decisions for students, staff and families. She is committed to developing an environment in CCUSD that affirms identities where everyone feels safe, heard, validated and supported to achieve.
