Four Time US Olympic Gold Medalist Lenny Krayzelburg visits Culver City Natatorium
With his continuing efforts to reopen the Natatorium at the middle school Robert Smith
has asked Lenny Krayzelburg to contribute his time and expertise to this cause. The
Natatorium at the Middle School has been closed for 19 years due to lack of funding for
the facility. The tour of the building Friday afternoon lasted about 30 minutes with a
follow up meeting of about one hour outside in front of the facility. Mike Korgan and
Kathy Paspalis from CCUSD were there to greet Robert and Lenny and to provide access
to the Natatorium. Lenny will be working with Robert Smith to determine the feasibility
of reopening the Natatorium as a sustainable resource that would be available to the
entire community.
Lenny owns and operates the Lenny Krayzelburg Swim Academy with six locations
across the United States. His swim academy teaches the SwimRight® learn-to-swim
method developed by Lenny and his staff. www.lennykswim.com
Lenny K. Swim Academy is a member of the United States Swim School Association.
He also has the Lenny Krayzelburg Foundation www.lkfoundation.org
The Foundation gives the gift of swimming to disadvantaged youth in underserved
communities in Los Angeles, making them water safe. The Foundation provides highquality
programs to youth previously excluded from the sport due to social and economic
barriers, and limited access to safe pools. Programs are designed to improve physical
fitness, nurture self-esteem, instill confidence, and inspire each child to strive to reach his
or her full potential. The Foundation seeks to leverage resources with partners to broaden
and expand its outreach to the most underserved communities.
