The Los Angeles Fire Department and Marina Del Rey Firefighters were dispatched to a greater fire alarm at  Mariners Bay Apartments and Anchorage at approximately 6:50 am this morning, Saturday. The 11 fire trucks at 14000 Palawan Way fought a fire on the first floor to the second and third floors where paramedics treated individuals for smoke inhalation. According to Battalion chiefs Trey Espy and Mark Tolbert fires in large complexes as Mariners are older and have a greater risk of fire hazards. Their advice to homeowners is to check the batteries on smoke detectors in their home and the electrical outlets.
