National Women’s Political Caucus Endorses Stephanie Loredo for Culver City Unified School District Governing Board Member

Stephanie Loredo (https://stephanieloredo.com), an advocate for education, sustainability, and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), today announced she has been endorsed by National Women’s Political Caucus (NWPC). Stephanie is a candidate for Culver City Unified School District (CCUSD) Governing Board Member. NWPC (https://www.nwpc.org) is a national, pro-choice, multi-partisan, grassroots membership organization dedicated to identifying, recruiting, training and supporting women candidates for elected and appointed office at all levels of government.

Founded in 1971, the NWPC is the only national organization dedicated exclusively to increasing women’s participation in all areas of political and public life — as elected and appointed officials, as delegates to national party conventions, as judges in the state and federal courts, and as lobbyists, voters and campaign organizers. With state and local affiliates, its membership today spans across the nation.

“NWPC LA Westside stands behind women and candidates who protect reproductive rights and who nurture pro-choice, progressive values in their communities,” said Tori Chica, director of political action, NWPC LA Westside. “We are proud to endorse Stephanie Loredo for Culver City School Board because she will be a strong representative for the interests of women and girls.”

NWPC offers campaign training for candidates and campaign managers, as well as technical assistance and advice. State and local chapters provide support to candidates running at state and local levels by helping raise money and providing crucial hands-on volunteer assistance. Its founders include prominent women such as activist and author of The Feminine Mystique, Betty Friedan; author, lecturer, and founding editor of Ms. Magazine, Gloria Steinem; former Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm; former Congresswoman and former president of Women USA, Bella Azbug, voting and women’s rights activist and civil rights leader, Fanny Lou Hamer, and more.

“My values for women’s equality and reproductive rights are affirmed by my endorsement by the National Women’s Political Caucus. I am grateful for the support of this national feminist organization,” said Stephanie Loredo. “Advocacy for women is part of my ethos. I want to support our school district’s students and employees, especially girls and women, with a culture of care that embraces the fullness of our community members’ humanity. I am committed to prioritizing feminist values, inclusion, equity, reproductive rights, and access to affordable child care.”

Public schools are foundational to thriving, healthy communities. Stephanie’s vision for public schools is gaining visibility and trust with organizations and voters who want to support and empower women and girls. Throughout her academic journey, professional development, interactions at schools, and community relationships, Stephanie has been active in issues affecting women and girls. She majored in Women’s Studies at the University of Pennsylvania, where she is also an alpha Kappa Delta Phi Asian-interest sorority alumna, advocating for the empowerment of women of Asian descent. In all grade levels in her children’s schools, she advocates for more diverse selections of books in the classroom, including reading focused on gender studies and women’s history. She is committed to developing an environment in CCUSD that affirms identities where everyone feels safe, heard, validated and supported to achieve.
