reDiscover Center’s Annual Fundraiser Set for October 20
LOS ANGELES, CA: reDiscover Center, LA’s largest hands-on kid makerspace, is celebrating their 15th year anniversary by hosting their annual fundraiser on Sunday, October 20, 4:00 – 7:00pm at reDiscover Center, 12958 West Washington Blvd., Los Angeles, in the Marina del Rey/Culver City/Venice area.
The fundraiser will support reDiscover’s free educational programming for disadvantaged youth in the Los Angeles area, including summer camp scholarships, in-school maker programs, and community events. reDiscover’s summer camp provides a week long, tools-intensive experience for children ages 5-16.
Jonathan Bijur, Executive Director of reDiscover Center, shared, “Last year, 30 scholarships helped underserved youth to increase their self-confidence, gain practical skills, and express themselves in a supportive, open-ended environment. Using power tools is empowering, especially for children. The fall fundraiser makes these scholarships possible.” reDiscover’s Tinkering Camp scholarships support foster, homeless, and low income youth.
The fundraiser will include hands-on tools demonstrations, art activities, and food and refreshments from local businesses. The silent auction will offer one of a kind items and hand crafted projects made by reDiscover campers and by local professional artists.
Tickets are $100 each and are considered tax deductible donations. Tickets are available at rediscovercenter.org/fundraiser
For further information about the fundraiser or to donate a silent auction item, please contact Amy at 310-393-3636 or emailing Amy@rediscovercenter.org.
