For 10 years now, the Actors' Gang theater troupe has performed a family-friendly adaptation of a Shakespeare play each Saturday and Sunday in August, in Media Park in Culver City.

In 2011, it was a vampire vs. zombie version of Romeo & Juliet. In 2012, we got a Star Wars version of The Tempest, with Obi Wan Kenobi as Prospero, Princess Leia as Miranda, C3P0 as Ariel, and Jabba the Hutt as Caliban. In 2014, they performed a My Little Pony version of A Midsummer Night's Dream, and last year we got Harry Potter Hamlet.

This year it seems we'll be treated to a Pokemon Go rendition of Romeo and Juliet. The kid-friendly versions are free -- and are always a lot of fun. Check it out on Saturdays and Sundays in August at 11 am. in Media Park.
