The Online Community for Culver City – The New Scene
This summer, as always, Culver City is presenting a series of free concerts in the courtyard of Culver City City Hall. The 2012 summer series offers rock, r&b, jazz, soul, and country acts on six consecutive Thursdays this July and August at 7:00 p.m. The festival is produced by Gary Mandell of Culver City’s Boulevard Music.
This Thursday, August 8, Afro-Cuban/Salsa from Ricardo Lemvo will perform. Ricardo Lemvo performs an innovative blend of Cuban son and African soukous -- with his band Makina Loca. A veteran of this festival (he performed two years ago) this Congo-born artist of Angolan ancestry sings in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Lingala, and Kikongo. Bring your dancing shoes.
