Carmageddon II: Coming to Culver City This September

Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky announced on Thursday that the 405 Freeway will be closed for 53 hours beginning Friday, September 28, at 7 pm and ending on Monday, October 1, at 5 am. Like last July, this year's Carmageddon will close the 405 for 10 miles from the 10 to the 101, as workers demolish the north side of the Mulholland Bridge to widen the freeway and add a carpool lane.

Last year, of course, all the hubbub about brain-curdling traffic along the 405 alternative routes (like Sepulveda Blvd) was completely unfounded. Noon in Culver City found the weather gloomy but the traffic light.
