Celebrate National Rice Month with Chef Kaumudi from Un-Curry Restaurant, who will give a demonstration of delicious rice recipes at the Culver City Julian Dixon Library this Saturday, September 27 from 3 pm to 4 pm. There will be samples of rice dishes and recipes to take home. The event is free and open to the public.
If Un-Curry's Yelp reviews are any indication, this will be a lot of fun. Here's how "Stacy M.," one cooking class participant at the restaurant, described the experience:
"My fiance and I took Kaumudi's Indian cooking class and it was such a great experience. ...Kaumudi did a great job of explaining everything from the regional cuisines, how we understand Indian food in America, and how each spice effects different dishes when they are incorporated....
"She has wide knowledge of and great experience in the culinary world. Her teaching methods are great and I can say I am considerably less intimidated by the idea of cooking indian food now. The class was thoroughly enjoyable and the time went by so quickly. We will very likely take another class of hers very soon."
