The Online Community for Culver City – The New Scene
This week, the Culver City Chamber of Commerce announced its endorsement of incumbents Jim Clarke and Jeff Cooper in the Culver City Council election this April. Councilman Clarke and Mayor Cooper received the endorsement after a review process that included written responses on the important issues, a review of each candidate's record of public service and an interview conducted by the Chamber.
"During their time in office, both Jim and Jeff have shown leadership, fiscal responsibility and an understanding of economic development," said Chamber Chairman Bill Reider. "Each has worked closely with local businesses and the community as a whole to create new opportunities for our city and to address the critical issue of business attraction and retention."
One of the candidates not selected for endorsement, Christopher Patrick "CPK" King, offered the following video as a response to the decision. The video -- which addresses a double-tax on businesses that locate to Culver City in the last two years -- is his first in a series of weekly videos on issues germane to the city.
