Culver City Dominates LA Eaters Survey of Best Gastropubs

LA Eater recently published its list of the Best Gastropubs in Los Angeles, and 5 out of the 16 eateries listed are located in Culver City: Father's Office, Waterloo & City, Ford's Filling Station, City Tavern, and newcomer The Corner Door. The website defined a gastropub as "small plate pubby places focused on serving universally-inspired quality fare and crafty beer in gritty, hip environs."

Here's what the website had to say about Father's Office: "Probably the gastropub that started them all, the full realization of the concept resides in Culver City's Helms Bakery. Sang Yoon's first location in Santa Monicaintroduced many Angelenos to great beer and perhaps the ideal burger."

And about The Corner Door: "Another anchor in Culver City's burgeoning culinary scene, this boiler-plate gastropub features grilled asparagus with crispy fried egg and fried chicken wings. Expect other favs such as steamed mussels, roasted chicken, and steak & fries. Cocktails are great too."
