Culver City is a less colorful city with the loss of two landmarks this year. Ed Massey's "Syncopation" (below) moved to Playa Vista, leaving behind the grey building above. 

And D*Face's wonderfully comic "Going Nowhere Fast" has been covered up by new construction.

It's so sad. Years ago, when I was driving around Culver City trying to decide if I wanted to buy a home here, I looked up and saw "Syncopation". It showed me that this city is unique and has an artistic character to it. It played a factor in terms of me wanting to live and invest in this wonderful city. I'm all for redevelopment but please keep promoting public works of art.
