The Culver City PTA will host a rally on Monday, October 8th, at 5:00 pm, to show their support for Proposition 38, an initiative on the ballot this November that will secure tens of millions of dollars in funding for local schools.
The event, taking place at Veterans Memorial Park, will feature speakers including PTA members, local teachers, parents, and community leaders. According to the Culver City PTA, Proposition 38 would bring more than $6 million to Culver City Unified School District schools by 2013-14, and more than $14 million by 2023-24. This money could be used to reduce class sizes, restore art, music, math, and science programs, and provide technical education and college preparation for local students.

If you plan to vote yes on Prop 38, you should definitely show up to support it. A recent USC Dornsife/Los Angeles Tiems polly showed that just 34 percent of registered voters plan to vote for Proposition 38, while 52 percent oppose it.
