The Online Community for Culver City – The New Scene
Each Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 for the rest of the month of July, the Culver City Public Theater is performing "A Servant to 2 Masters," a new adaptation of a play by Carlo Goldoni. Then during the first three weekends in August at 2:00 the troupe will perform an adaption of "The Matchmaker" by Thornton Wilder.
Each 2:00 performance is preceded by a performance of the Children's Popcorn Theatre at 12:00 performing an adaptation of The Odyssey. The show pulls in a pretty good crowd, and it's altogether a nice way to spend a warm summer afternoon in the park.
Since its founding in 1998, the Culver City Public Theatre has produced free, outdoor performances of plays by Shakespeare, Oscar Wilde, Noel Coward, Neil Simon, Chekhov, Moliere, Sophocles, Euripides, and many more. It is supported by the Culver City Performing Arts Grant Program and by Sony Pictures Entertainment and the Los Angeles County Arts Commission.
