Culver City's Hitler Teapot Billboard Captures the Nation's Imagination

Does the image of a teapot above, from a J.C. Penny billboard right off the 405 in Culver City, look like Hitler. Well...yeah, it kind of does. Kind of a gag, but no big deal. Still it's just the kind of story that everyone loves to write about. A story about the nazi-saluting kettle popped up on ABC, CBS, NBC, NPR, E! Online, KTLA, KPCC, LAist, Business InsiderNew York Magazine, New York Daily News, the Kansas City Star, and even The Guardian. Take a guess how many of these outlets use the phrase "a tempest in a teapot." Hint: pretty much all of them.

UPDATE: The offending billboard has been removed. The world cheers/mourns/moves on.
