Building on the momentum of a packed campaign launch in mid-November, the Daniel Lee for Culver City Council campaign will hold its first fundraiser on Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 6pm to 8pm at the Wende Museum near Veterans Park. The museum, which recently opened in the new location, is a marvel, with an astounding collection of artifacts and art from the Cold War. It has quickly become a cultural touchstone for Culver City, and is the perfect venue for Lee’s campaign.

The Daniel Lee for Culver City Council team promises a night of great food, an open bar, art, history and comedy. Joining the festivities for the night will be up-and-coming comedian Byron Bowers, who has appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and Comedy Central’s Why? With Hannibal Buress, and can currently be seen in the new Showtime series The Chi. It is an event not to be missed, particularly if you haven’t had a chance to visit the Wende Museum at its new location: 10808 Culver Blvd, Culver City, CA 90230.

Come help Daniel raise the funds he needs to win! Lee’s campaign is built on three fundamental beliefs: protect the environment, encourage economic fairness, and ensure government accountability. 

• Protect the Environment: As 10% of the Inglewood Oil Field lies within Culver City’s boundaries, we should create rules to protect our residents from contamination due to oil pollution, fracking, and other environmental hazards. We must also have environmentally sound building codes and a robust sustainability plan that ensures the city has a healthy and productive future.
  
• Encourage Economic Fairness: City government should act to support the demographic and economic diversity of our residents, inclusionary zoning, alternative building practices, and affordable housing initiatives that make it possible for middle and lower-wage residents to live and work in Culver City.
  
• Ensure Government Accountability: Our local representatives’ chief responsibility is to be accountable to the people who have elected them. City Council Members should proactively engage with residents in their communities on a regular basis, and represent the concerns of those residents in the City Council.
