Culver City's Fiesta La Ballona is coming to Veteran's Park in Culver City this weekend. In addition to tons of rides for kids of all ages, the Fiesta offers live music, a petting zoo, a food court, and a beer and wine garden sponsored by the Culver City Exchange Club.

Parking is available in a number of lots including Sony Studios, across Overland at the former Courthouse parking lot, at the Armory and at the Senior Center.

The carnival rides start Friday at 6 pm. On both Saturday and Sunday, the festivities begin at 11 am. On Saturday, the vendor booths, pony rides and petting zoo run until 6 pm, while the carnival rides continue until 10 pm. On Sunday, the booths close at 5 pm and the rides close at 9 pm.

 "Fiesta La Ballona Days" began in 1951 as a week-long celebration of the region's early settlers. People went to events - and even to work! - dressed up as Native American Indians, rancheros, señoritas, cowboys and cowgirls. The early fiestas evoked pride among the descendants of the "first families." Today's it's still a chance to connect with and celebrate the city's past and present.
