PXP Hydraulic Fracturing in the Inglewood Oil Field
PXP has been fracking the Vickers, Moynier and Sentous formations since the early 2000's and is now undertaking a program of hydraulic fracturing of the formation known as the Nodular Shale whose depth is at approximately 8400 feet, the thickness variable between 150-300 feet. Currently. four wells have been approved for the 2012 drilling program. The drilling technique used will be directional meaning that at a certain depth the drilling becomes horizontal. The horizontal run will be from 1000' to 3200' in length with multiple fracturing stages. Hydraulic Fracturing is used specifically to inject pressures beyond the formations fracture pressure to increase the permeability of the strata by allowing trapped petroleum and gas to flow more easily to the producing well. The upcoming meeting will be your opportunity have your questions answered by Dr. Tom Williams a noted oil and gas field specialist. Please use the links along the left edge to educate yourself on this topic for the upcoming meeting. Please forward this email to any neighbors who may share your interest in the issue of the expansion of the Inglewood Oil Field. Thank you. Citizens Coalition for a Safe Community |
