Images from the Culver City Orchestra's Summer Series at Burton Chace Park

My wife and I went to the Culver City Orchestra's summer series at Burton Chace Park in Marina del Rey for their presentation of "Remembering France," last thursday evening. It was really wonderful.

Celebrating the 150th anniversary ofClaude Debussy, the program will presented his "March Ecossaise" and the brilliant "Iberia" from "Images."Maurice Ravel's fiery and increasingly chaotic "La Valse" came after the break. Then the highlight: duo-piano Naughton Twins, Christina and Michelle, performed "Concerto in D minor for Two Pianos" by Francis Poulenc. Really amazingly beautiful and dynamic music.

There's one summer concert left: Rachmoninov, Gershwin, and John Adams on August 21.
