United Parents of Culver City Launch Podcast Examining Issues Relevant to Culver City Parents

United Parents of Culver City formed in May of 2012, to "give parents a voice in the political process in order to positively impact the lives of Culver City families." Now they've launched a podcast created by two of the Political Action Committee (PAC) members of the United Parents of Culver City (UPCC), Scott McVarish & Scott

According the organization's website, United Parents of Culver City "promotes an educational culture that places the interests of students before those of adults. UPCC’s Political Action Committee (PAC) organizes the financial and political power of parents to support candidates and issues that promote a student-first agenda in our city and school district."

Here are some of the organization stated interests:

  • The rights of parents to fund-raise for positions at their school site
  • Solar panels to fuel the district’s energy needs
  • Clean and safe air in our classrooms
  • Use of school facilities for parent groups without charge
  • Implementing and utilizing already purchased assets
  • UPCC to select a parent representative(s) for the superintendent selection process
  • Parent representatives on textbook selection committees

You can find out more about the organization and join at their WEBSITE.
