Mitch Dobrowner's new exhibition of photographs, "Storms," opens at Kopeikin Gallery this Saturday, September 7, and runs through October 26. Dobrowner received the prestigious Sony World Photographer of the Year award in 2012 for this body of work. The opening reception - free and open to the public - is Saturday, September 7, from 6 pm to 8 pm.
Here's what Mitch Dobrowner has to say about these photographs, "When taking photographs, time and space seem hard for me to measure. Whenever I shoot a ‘quality’ image, I know it. At those moments things are quiet, seem simple again – and I obtain a respect and reverence for the world that is hard to communicate through words. For me those moments happen when the exterior environment and my interior world combine. Hopefully the images presented help communicate what is visualized during those times."
"He brings a sense of its history and enormous skill in his craft while pushing his imagination and, even, physical strength. The work offers a visceral rush while being wonderfully well made." - William M. Hun

This looks like an incredible exhibit I will definitely check out! La fans of the arts may also love Music By Glass-Dance By Diavolo at the Hollywood Bowl this Thurs Sept 5th. It's an incredible modern dance performance set to the LA Phil (who I work with) performing Philip Glass’ Symphony No. 3. Definitely a show not to be missed, you can learn more about the event here :) http://hbowl.com/FluidInfinities
