Moko in Downtown Culver City Closes

During its four short months of existence, Jonathan Gold reviewed it and so did the ShopEatSleep blog, but now Moko owner Will Shin has announced that the restaurant in downtown Culver City will be shuttering its doors and reopening as G2, a Korean BBQ, on September 1.

Citing the "serious health issues" of Executive Chef Gary Robins, the restaurant's press release says, "Owner Will Shin doesn’t feel it’s possible to maintain the intricate menu at MoKo without him. In its place, G2 (Gyenari 2) will be opening September 1 and will be an ode to the K-town favorites of Shin and his wife. Shin says, 'A lot of people were upset when Gyenari closed, so we’re listening to the people and bringing back Korean BBQ to Culver City.'
