New Art Gallery in Opens in Culver City

Gallery 3209 -- a new art gallery at 3209 S. La Cienega Avenue -- will open this Saturday, the 7th, with a solo show by artist Michelle Jane Lee entitled "Love Notes." The opening reception is from 6 pm to 9 pm, and -- as always -- the event is free and open to the public.

Note that this is 3209 La Cienega AVE., not Boulevard. That means that this is the first gallery to use La Cienega  Avenue -- the third part of the triangle that composes the Culver City Art District.

According to the press release for the show:

Michelle Jane Lee’s Love Notes is a series of over 100 coded letters written over three years. Lee constructed a new alphabet by assigning a color to each letter to communicate and navigate a profound personal experience in love and loss – in her own words, “to say everything without saying anything, without being found out.” Painstakingly composing then concealing her language through a secret code, Lee authors communiqués of color.
